Rear suspension change

There are a few ways to do this job, this is just the way I did it

My nice Ohlins suspension back from a rebuild

First jack up the car and support on axel stands. Jack up under the diff.

Pull back the carpet in the boot and undo 3 screws and 1 plastic clip and remove the plastic covering.

Undo these 3 nuts, 3rd nut is under the plastic trim but you can get to it with a 3/8 drive ratchet without removing the trim, then remove the cover.

Remove these 3 nuts.

If you can, remove this nut on the drop link as it will make life a little easier but its not essential.

Compress the spring as much as possible.

Undo the bottom strut nut.
Now the shock is loose, push down hard on the centre nut at the top inside the boot and push outwards.
You should then be able to remove the strut assembly.

You can now undo the top mount on the shock and remove the spring.

Refitting is the reverse of removal. Note: when refitting keep the spring compressed, place the strut unit over the lower arm, compress the strut and locate the top studs.
